CAT 2025 is a passport to secure admission in the 21 IIMs and other prestigious MBA colleges in the country. As per the previous trend, the official notification of the exam should appear in July/Aug. It is important to start the CAT preparation as early as possible since only a dedicated preparation will help you ace the CAT.

CAT 2025: An Umbrella View
CAT is expected to be one of the integral competitive exams in the Indian education sector. This exam gives you access to 1200+ colleges across India. CAT 2025 will be conducted by IIM Kozhikode in 2025. The candidates applying for the exam should be graduates with an overall 50% marks (45% for SC/ST aspirants). CAT is an online test and is conducted in a Computer Based Format (CBT). The CAT comprises of 66-68 questions spanning across 3 sections: Quantitative Ability (QA), Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation (LRDI) and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC).

How to register for the exam?
- Visit the website: www.iimcat.ac.in
- Go to ‘New Registration’
- Fill all your personal details such as Name, Date of Birth, Contact Number, etc.
- Complete the verification process
- Use the CAT 2025 ID to login (You will receive this in your mail box)
- Fill the academic and other personal details
- Upload a signature and a photograph as per the specifications
- Tick on the preferred IIMs and select the test cities as per your convenience
- Complete the exam fee payment process

CAT 2025 Paper Pattern (Based upon CAT 2024)
- CAT 2025 will be a Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) type of exam. The duration of CAT 2024 was 120 minutes and there were 68 questions in the test.
- CAT 2024 was held in 3 sessions
- There were 3 sections: QA, LRDI & VARC
- A correct answer invited +3 marks while an incorrect answer means -1 mark
- Certain questions do not have answer options and are termed as TITA (Type in the Answers) questions. Such questions won’t have negative marking
- VARC = 24 Questions, LRDI = 22 Questions, QA = 22 Questions
